Investigations are continuing into reports that a 40-year-old prison officer used fraudulent documents to get a sick leave from work.
Police said members of the Fraud Squad received a report that the prison officer submitted the documents, including a fake doctor’s note, to senior prison service officers to get time off.
The other officers became suspicious and filed a report with the Fraud Squad which investigated.
The prison officer was arrested at his Williamsville home on Thursday morning.
The Fraud Squad is continuing enquiries.
